CLIL Art History propone moduli riguardanti argomenti di storia dell’arte dalle origini a oggi. Ogni modulo presenta la stessa struttura: attività che permettono di recuperare ciò che già si conosce e di presentare il nuovo argomento (Warm up); un Brainstorming su quello che già si conosce e quello che si vorrebbe apprendere sull’argomento; attività finalizzate a sviluppare abilità di listening, reading, speaking e writing (Input e Materials). Tutti gli esercizi e le strategie didattiche usate nei moduli sono finalizzati all’attività finale (Final Task), in cui si richiede la creazione di un prodotto che deve essere illustrato o comunicato.

Teachers may decide that one of the two activities can be completed by the students on their own. ACTIVITY 3.b Listen to the recording and take notes in order to complete the sentences. Andy Warhol Andy Warhol was born in Pittsburgh, in Pennsylvania, USA, in 1928, and was the most famous and unconventional of the American Pop artists. During his life he was the person who was able to express the myth of the artist as a Pop star in the best way. He studied in his city and then moved to New York, where he first worked as a window dresser for important department stores and then as a graphic designer creating advertising campaigns. In 1956 he decided to set out on a long journey around the world, which also included Italy. At the beginning of the sixties he undertook a career as a painter. It was in this period that Andy Warhol constructed his public image. He chose a pseudonym (his true name was Andrew Warhola) and adopted an exaggerated and eccentric look. His first meaningful works began to appear in 1962 and that was when the expression  Pop Art  began to be used in the most trendy art galleries in New York. For example, in the work called Five Coke Bottles it was clear that his research concentrated on serial images, which would later become a characteristic of his productions. In this work Warhol represented one of the most well-known American products, a bottle of Coca-Cola.
