MODULO 4 Decolonization The decades between the middle of the 19th century and World War I were characterized by imperialistic policies. European powers acquired overseas territories directly or exerted political and economic control on vast areas in Asia and Africa. Decolonization was the process by which colonies became independent from the dominant countries. This process provoked consequences that are visible still today.
